Scars of a Country

Every country faces a lot of challenges. And as for the Philippines, it also faces hardships. It may concern our health, the politics, or the country itself. And as the saying goes “Sometimes you have to go through darkness to get to the light.” Being strong and overcoming hardships are one of the greatest things in life.

Right now one of the challenges faced by our country is the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now we are a country that is struggling to keep its economy afloat. Families are worried about their lives and their living and there are a lot of anxious citizens. Distancing apart and quarantine have been the new normal. And because of this, people have no choice but to stay at home. The pandemic is indeed a battle for everyone, a lot suffered and died. But the pandemic is not the only challenge that the Philippines have faced. There is also poverty and natural calamities. The Philippines often experience calamities and disasters but despite that, most people remain positive for they are immune on such circumstances. Well maybe other survivors are able to cope up, others might feel anxious and might react negatively. And this might lead to mental health problems. Talking about mental health, the mental health of people became worse during this pandemic. The pandemic itself, social isolation, and general fear and uncertainty have majorly affected the mental health of everyone. A lot are stressed, anxious, and depressed, and due to the lock downs during this pandemic, the employment rate hovered around 5% but it worsened as time goes by. And as a result of increased unemployment the poverty has risen.

With some of these challenges faced by the Philippines, let us hope to solve all of them. With the right leader leading the country, everything will settle on its right place. Let us be strong and brave. Let us help our country to be better and more prosperous than ever. A country that will be admired by everyone and a home to each and every Filipino.
